The Rainbow Room is for Herring
Brook’s youngest preschoolers who are both 3 years old and toilet
trained. Here, in the Rainbow Room, children begin their school
experience and lay the foundation for a bright and colorful future.
This room is vibrant with activity, learning and friendship. The
highlights of our three year old room are the colorful Rainbow
mural, the library loft, the dramatic play area and being able to
spend exhilarating quality school time in a loving, nurturing
relationship with Ms Melinda. Ms Melinda is the lead teacher
in the Rainbow Room and she gently introduces her children to the
structure and community of a school environment. She places
heavy emphasis on social skills, the art of friendship and
cooperative play, manners and self-help skills. Favorite activities
in the Rainbow Room include arts & crafts, singing, stories,
exploration & hands-on learning, plus creative building with
all kinds of fine motor manipulatives. The Rainbow Room can
take a maximum of 16 children with 2 teachers.
