Our playground is nestled in the woods, surrounded by nature and wildlife. It features the "Herring Brook Lodge"- an elevated playhouse with a tube slide (for quick descents), plus a wide range of outdoor play equipment. A bike track, swing sets, climbers, a huge sandbox, water tables and a tented picnic table area make outdoor playtime a much-anticipated part of the day. Our playground provides a world of real and imaginary challenges while promoting activity, adventure and coordination. Along with its aesthetic beauty, it is also a place that allows children the freedom to release their boundless energy and to explore their fantasies. Wooded nature trails enhance our science and discovery activities. The great outdoors is one of Herring Brook’s most important and beloved classrooms.
