Welcome to Herring Brook Day School
We are proud to introduce Herring Brook Day School, a premier preschool in
Scituate, MA– “the Smart Choice For Growing Young Minds…and Hearts!” We enroll children
ages three to kindergarten. We are a full-day facility, open 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. year-round, to meet the needs
of working parents and are conveniently situated on Route 3, - just a mile from the Greenbush Train Station for
commuting families. Located in Christ Lutheran Church, our non-denominational preschool offers an
exceptional social and educational environment with both full-time child care and four hour half-day morning
programs. Full or part-time; our preschool program promotes children's socialization, values training,
language development, cognitive growth, academic enrichment, character development, cognitive growth &
physical development in a setting & with a staff unsurpassed by others.

Our Philosophy
As an educational facility, our philosophy is to enrich
and enhance each child's natural developmental progression while ensuring that all children experience the sheer
delight of being a child. At Herring Brook your child's day will be full of wonder, adventure, discovery,
laughter, joy and friendship! We provide children with a wealth and variety of both materials and experiences.
Education occurs "naturally" through playful interaction with the materials, people and the world around them. We
do more than merely "teach" academic facts. We encourage curiosity and help children learn through exploration,
experimentation and discovery.

Since play and learning are inseparable; we integrate play into everything that children do at
Herring Brook. We provide a full range of indoor and outdoor play, and a well-rounded, dynamic, and
meaningful developmental curriculum. Our equipment and learning materials have been carefully chosen to
promote education as well as entertainment. Our facility has been specially designed to provide a safe and
stimulating, living and learning environment for the care and education of young children.
To meet the needs of today’s working parents we have created a charming "home away from home" that
embraces children into a loving community and celebrates with them daily the joy and wonder of
childhood. At Herring Brook we highlight positive social values. We help children create
positive connections to others, build strong, meaningful relationships and experience a genuine sense of
